I work intuitively letting the images come as they will. A normal workday finds me in front of a blank canvas with no clue about what will emerge. At my feet are three miniature dachshunds, who consider themselves part of the process.

Though my work has been described as happy, there are often undertones of unease – for years I was afraid to paint, fearful of what might become true once painted. Prophecy is my heritage. My life as a child in my grandmother’s home in the french-speaking community of Fenton, Louisiana, set the stage for my imaginary-life...the one I go to when I paint! A bit of whimsy and otherworldliness is my strength as well as my Achilles heel.

A 1989 graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, I also studied at USL in Lafayette, where I currently live.
